Charlotte is my mini-me in lots of ways and she definitely has my vivid imagination and interest in creativity. She also likes to always be busy, another trait she gets from me (poor Jack!). This means that I spend a lot of time trying to think of things to do, crafting being one of our favourite pastimes.

What I've found more difficult of late is trying to find the time to juggle Charlotte, a four month old Edward, my work commitments and the time needed to set up arts and crafts when Charlotte asks to have a crafting session. That's when I came up with the idea of a craft kit; a little box filled with craft bits to keep little ones busy and all you need to do is grab the kit and find a space to get creative with your child. I've tried to think carefully about what is included in the craft kits, emphasis being on variety, children's interests (because we all know they lose interest quite quickly) and also trying to keep really messy activities to a minimum. This means that the craft kits can be taken out and about too; a trip out to meet friends etc. without having lots of mess to clear up.

Another issue I was finding frustrating was that when you purchase crafts, which can be quite expensive anyway, you get such a lot of the same thing. I then found that Charlotte would so quickly lose interest if we were just repeating the same craft, proving the importance of variety for enrichment.
The craft kits will be themed and come in recyclable cardboard boxes, with a number of different crafting pieces inside. The same kit may vary slightly with pieces inside being different colours, style etc. Any pens, paints and other inks are non-toxic and all crafting pieces are designed for children. However, supervision by adults must always be carried out when children are crafting as the craft kits will contain small parts.

I'm hoping that other parents can relate and hopefully see, like me, that these kits will potentially make crafting sessions easier, while still being fun and with plenty to do and enjoyed by children of different ages. In the future I hope to offer a subscription service so that a different craft kit will be delivered to customers each month.
The first kit to launch is Easter themed and packed full of fun; a bunny mask to decorate, stickers, fluffy chicks and more! Keep checking in with us through our website and on social media to be first to know when they launch.
Love,
Em x
